FOR STUDIO FIRST-TIMERS

We at Backstage fully realize that first impressions are everything.
We want to make your first recording experience (or, if you’re a
recording veteran, your first recording experience with us) as fun
and fulfilling as possible.

Will this be your first time recording in a studio?  If so, it's
completely OK!  We fully realize that you might be a little nervous
when you arrive for your first session, but we promise to make
everything as simple and easy as possible for you here.  Your first
studio experience should be FUN and EXCITING, not stressful
and awkward.

General Tips for Studio First-timers:

*The most important thing is to be fully prepared to play your
music.  Make sure you PRACTICE and practice some more until
you have all the material down cold and can play/sing through the
songs several times without mistakes.

*Please be on time for your session.  We always allow clients to
come early to set up their gear, so please take advantage of it!

*Talk to our recording engineer before your recording session.
He will be able to answer any specific questions you might have,
and he can discuss with you some recording strategies/protocol
you might need to know about.

*Only bring people who are needed for your recording.  Bringing
extra people can be distracting and therefore can hinder your
performance.  Give them a copy of your CD when you finish
recording.

*Bring all the gear you would normally use for practice or a gig.
We do, however, have studio instruments you are more than
welcome to use.

Do you have any more questions about the recording process?  If
so, please visit the
Recording FAQ page, or you can call or send
an email!
